Nestled into the banks of the Delaware River in historic Bristol Borough, The Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Museum was home to the Grundy family whose ancestors were among the first European settlers in Bucks County. The Grundy Museum allows a visit to the world of this wealthy late Victorian-era family. This world is interpreted through the furnishings and objects in the home, most of which were owned and used by the Grundy Family.

                              

Museum Hours & Admission:   We are open for tours!

We care about the safety of our visitors and staff. For this reason, face masks are required for everyone 2 years of age and older, including your docent.

Registration is required for all tours through TicketLeap: https://grundymuseum.ticketleap.com/

Two types of tours are available:

  • Free House Tour - Free docent-led tours are available on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday tours are one-hour starting at 1:30PM in front of the Museum. Saturday tours are available at 1:15pm and 2:30pm. All tours require advanced registration through TicketLeap.   https://grundymuseum.ticketleap.com/
  • Thematic Tour - This new tour was developed by Curator Geoffrey Webster who will lead a two-hour Thematic Tour on the first Saturday of each month starting at 11:00AM in front of the Museum. A $50 pp contribution is required. Funds support Grundy Foundation’s CanDoMore Campaign. Click on the "TOUR" Tab or go to TicketLeap for a detailed description of each tour. Donations are kindly accepted. We welcome guests of all ages. COVID19 guidelines must be followed. Masks are required and are worn by Museum staff.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     

Our permanent exhibit "Made in America: The Grundy Mill and the Business of Spinning Wool" will remain closed in the adjacent Grundy Library. Grounds Hours

Winter Hours - 3rd Sunday in October to 

Friday before Memorial Day

Monday - Thursday, 8am to dusk
Friday - Saturday, 8am to 4pm
Sunday, Closed

 

Summer Hours - Memorial Day Weekend to

Historic Bristol Day (3rd Saturday in October)


Monday - Wednesday, 8am to 7pm

Thursday and Friday, 8am to 4pm 

Saturday, 8am to 7:30pm     

Sunday and Holidays (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day), 12pm to 7:30pm

 

 

Passive recreational activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Picnicking

  • Observing Nature

  • Reading

  • Walking

  • Photography

  • Plein Air Painting

  • Fishing (only at posted designated fishing area)

Restrooms

The Grundy Library is currently closed. Restrooms are not available at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience. 

Restrooms are located on the river level in the adjacent Grundy Library building. An elevator is located inside the library to reach the river level. Restrictions may apply due to COVID19 guidelines.

Accessibility

Only the street level floor of the museum is handicapped-accessible. The Library is currently closed.

The library is completely handicapped accessible. At this time entrance to the library is only through the main doors at Radcliffe Street.
